The Handweavers Guild of America's annual juried exhibition Small Expressions is currently on display at the Kavanagh Gallery, Fine Line Arts Center in St. Charles, Illinois. The exhibit features beautiful small-scale textile works of art by artists from around the world. The exhibit includes an incredibly diverse selection of works made with traditional and non-traditional materials using a wide range of techniques.

The juried exhibit was judged by fiber artist and designer Laura Foster Nicholson who made clear in her artist's statement that just because a work is small does not mean it's simple, "The crafting demanded at such a reduced scale must be immaculate—larger work is more forgiving. The scale of threads is more crucial [and] the fineness of edges more exacting." The exhibit will be on display through September 7, and more information on the exhibit and winners can be found on the HGA's website as well as on the Fine Line Creative Arts Center's website
